The directorate of Traffic and road safety have in an operation today, impounded a total of 93 Motor vehicles in the stations of Wandegeya, Kabalagala, Katwe, Kajjansi, Kawempe, Jinja road, Kira division ,Kiira road and CPS.
According to the spokesperson of the traffic directorate SP Michael Kananura, the motor vehicles were impounded due to illegal possession of Sirens,roof lights, modified lights and violation of the one way rules.
“Statements of the drivers have been recorded and they will appear in court as per the provisions of the Traffic & Road Safety Act 1998 as variously amended and its regulations.” Kananura said
He also disclosed that their operations on such drivers that persistently violate the traffic and road safety rules will further continue.
He further warned all drivers that fall victim of the mentioned categories to immediately comply and remove them before they are impounded by the traffic directorate.
