Kamuli, Uganda – The Territorial Police in Busoga North and Kamuli CPS, have arrested a security guard at Master Children Ministries and Orphanage in Kamuli Municipality for allegedly defiling an 8-year-old orphan and indecently assaulting two other minors.
The suspect, Kizito Imulani, 40, was taken into custody by the police in busoga North, after the three victims, aged 8, 8, and 10, reported the incident to the officers.
According to the police spokesperson Fred Enanga, the suspect had gained trust of the management and the children, but ended up betraying it by sexually and physically harming the victims. “The victims reported that the suspect would inappropriately touch their body parts and lure them into sexual activities. Medical examination revealed evidence of sexual abuse on one of the victims.” Enanga narrated
He however noted that the arrest should serve as a deterrent to other child predators who would take advantage of vulnerable children. “Adults are obligated to look after children and take care of them, but not prey on them sexually.” Said the Police Spokesperson
He further hailed the victims for their courage in reporting the incident and urged adults to protect children from sexual predators. The suspect is facing charges of aggravated defilement and two counts of indecent assault. The police are investigating the incident and have called on anyone with information to come forward.
“We are glad that the victims, despite their age, took courage and reported the matter to the Matron, who alerted the school management and the police,” said SCP Enanga Fred. “We will ensure that justice is served and the suspect is held accountable for his actions.”
