Wakiso, Uganda – A shooting incident at Buddo Junction in Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District, left two people dead, sparking a joint investigation by Nsangi Police and the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces.
According to the spokesperson of Kampala metropolitan police Patrick Onyango, the incident occurred on July 23, 2024, at approximately 8:00 PM, resulting in the deaths of Nalumansi Evelyne Zaliya Kilonde Katende, 50, a resident of Mpangala Cell, and an unidentified individual wearing UPDF camouflage attire.
Onyango disclosed that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident, although their names have not been released. “Police is also investigating alleged kidnap of the suspects.” Said Onyango
“It’s alleged that one of the suspects currently detained at Nsangi Police discharged a bullets that ended up killing two people.” He further said
The motive behind the shooting is still unclear, but authorities have assured that a thorough investigation is underway. “Both bodies were transported to the City Mortuary Mulago for post-mortem examinations.” He stated
Police have promised to avail further details to the general public as they become available. “This investigation is being done jointly with Uganda Peoples Defence Forces.” Onyango said
