UNEB Finalises Preparations for PLE, Calls for Prayers & Precautions

Kampala, Uganda – The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has announced that final preparations are underway for the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) scheduled for November 6 and 7, 2024.

According to Jennifer Kalule-Musamba, Principal Public Relations Officer at UNEB, contracted professionals are being briefed this week, while candidates will be briefed on November 4th at their respective schools.

“We call upon Primary Head Teachers and P7 Teachers to ensure that the candidates are carefully briefed to follow the instructions as guided in the timetables that have already been distributed.” Jennifer Emphasized

She added, “After briefing, there must be no teaching or coaching of candidates.”

She however, encouraged the Parents where possible, to attend the briefing sessions of their candidates.

To prevent the spread of Mpox, UNEB has reminded schools to follow the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education, including providing clean water, soap, and hand sanitizers, as well as regularly cleaning publicly used surfaces forexample the desks.

She further rallied the faith-based organisations to pray for the candidates, saying “The Board also calls upon the various Faith Affiliations to join us in praying for, and dedicating the P7 candidates from Friday November 1st – Sunday November 3rd, 2024.”
