Kampala, Uganda – Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has finally graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from Cavendish University after a seven-year journey.
The National Unity Platform president and pop star, expressed his relief and gratitude on social media, revealing that his graduation was cleared only after a “very detailed and intense investigation”.
Kyagulanyi hinted that he faced unusual scrutiny, saying, “I don’t know if any other Ugandan student has been subjected to this before.”
In a heartfelt post, Kyagulanyi thanked his support system, including his sister Sylvia, NUP Secretary General Lewis Rubongoya, and his wife Barbie.
He also dedicated his achievement to everyone who believed in him, emphasizing the power of education in driving change. “This achievement is not just mine, but it belongs to everyone who has believed in me and stood by me through thick and thin.”
Kyagulanyi also took a swipe at detractors who attempted to block his graduation through NCHE, saying their efforts only strengthened his resolve.
“Recently when news came out that I was set to graduate, the usual detractors got busy and made every effort to stop me,” Kyagulanyi disclosed on his X handle
“Some people, ostensibly working for the regime and other detractors went as far as petitioning the National Council for Higher Education.”
