Nakaseke, Uganda – Police dog in Nakaseke district leads to the arrest of 3 suspects and recovery of UGX 9 million stolen in a burglary incident in Bwera Mpindi village, Kisoka Parish, Kikamulo Sub-County, Nakaseke.
According to Kituuma Rusoke the spokesperson of Uganda police force, the incident was reported to their Kiwoko Police Station on 21st September 2024 by Bogere Jamada where the police deployed a snifer dog called Scooby. “Scooby led officers to the door of one Mukanga Abdu. It then traced the savings box to the residence of Sekasi Adam, a friend of Mukanga Abdu, nearby.” He highlighted
The police dog’s keen instincts led officers to Sekasi Adam’s nearby home, where the intact savings box was found with all UGX 9 million still inside.
Mukanga Abdu, Sekasi Adam, and Godfrey Ondama, a friend of Sekasi, were taken into custody and are awaiting court proceedings.
“We commend Scooby’s exceptional work and our officers’ diligence in solving this case,” said ACP Kituuma Rusoke, police spokesperson. “This success showcases the effectiveness of our K9 unit in combating crime.”
The recovery of the stolen funds brings relief to the community and demonstrates the police’s commitment to justice.
