Kampala, Uganda – In a swift and decisive response, Kampala police foiled a burglary attempt in the early hours of August 22, 2024, in Nabulagala Zone, Rubaga Division.
Speaking at the weekly security presser at the headquarters in Naguru, the spokesperson of Uganda police force Kituuma Rusoke outlined that a group of assailants, armed with a hammer, forcibly entered the home of Victoria University student Arinaitwe Mackline, assaulting her and stealing her laptop, mobile phone, and academic transcripts.
He however disclosed that their escape was short-lived, as they were intercepted by a police patrol team from Old Kampala Police Station, leading to the arrest of one suspect, Mayanja Hassan, a 32-year-old resident of Kisenyi. “He later assisted in the apprehension of additional suspects.” Said Rusoke
In addition, the suspect was found in possession of a hammer and all the stolen items from Arinaitwe Mackline.
