Wakiso, Uganda – A devastating incident has shaken the community in Nabweru division, Wakiso district, after the lifeless body of 4-year-old Ndagire Cloe was discovered in an abandoned house on November 16, 2024.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, with preliminary findings suggesting signs of sexual assault before being strangled to death.
According to Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the police received a report on November 15, 2024, at 6:00 pm, that Ndagire had gone missing while playing outside her home.
“The mother wanted to shower her but could locate the child, which prompted the mother to report the matter to the police station in Kawempe.” Owoyesigyire highlighted
He said upon receiving the information, their police officers immediately kicked off the investigations into the whereabouts of the young girl.
“Yesterday at around 14:00hrs we received information in Kawanda that there was a body of unidentified child in an abandoned house. It was later confirmed that it was the child that went missing.” Owoyesigyire said
The police are working tirelessly to determine the events leading to Ndagire’s tragic death. Experts are examining the body to confirm whether she was sexually assaulted before being murdered. The investigation is ongoing, and more details will be shared in due time.
