S.4 Candidate Dies After Sitting for UNEB Exams in Kasese

Kasese, Uganda – Tragedy struck at Bwera Secondary School in Kasese District after an 18-year-old student, Nabasirye Sulaina, died suddenly on October 14, 2024.

According to Nelson Tumushime, the Rwenzori East Region Police Spokesperson, the victim Sulaina had sat for her Senior Four (S.4) Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) exams earlier that day.

“The deceased together with her colleagues attended preps and later went to the Dormitory for resting, at approximately 11pm, the deceased developed breathing problems.” Said Tumushime

The school matron, Biira Penina, rushed her to Bwera Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at approximately 12:30 am.

The Territorial Police in Bwera Division have launched an investigation into the sudden death.
