UNEB Extends Deadline for Continuous Assessment Scores Submission

Kampala Uganda – The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has announced an extension of the deadline for submitting Continuous Assessment (CA) scores for secondary school students.

According to the UNEB Spokesperson Kalule-Musamba, the move is expected to bring relief to schools and students who were struggling to meet the original deadline.

“The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) would like to inform all Heads of Secondary schools/ UCE and UACE Centres that the deadline for submission of Continuous Assessment (CA) scores where they are required has been extended.” Said the UNEB Spokesperson in a statement

New Deadlines:

Senior Four (UCE) candidates under the New Lower Secondary Curriculum_: October 30, 2024

Senior Three Learners, the new deadline is 15th November, 2024.

For UACE (S.6) Candidates, following the deadline of 30th September, a grace period has been having been granted, until October 15th, 2024.

“The submission of CA scores for subjects where it is a requirement for UACE attracts a surcharge of 50,000/= per candidate during this grace period.” Kalule stated

“Please note that for the New Lower Secondary Curriculum, Course Work scores should be submitted for all the subjects offered by the candidate, as well project work. Candidates without project work, and CA scores in any of the subjects offered shall not be graded. UCE Transitional candidates are NOT required to submit course scores.” Kalule further stated

UNEB has guided that, the headteachers of the affected UACE schools/ Centres, write a letter to the Executive Director with the required explanation for the late submission. “The letter, along with the CD of the scores of the UACE candidates, should be submitted to the CA offices in Kyambogo, where an invoice will be generated” She outlined

However, UACE Centres have been told to take note that UNEB will not receive any CA scores after 15th October.

“It is also important to note that and as per the regulations, UACE candidates, without CA scores shall also not be graded.” She said

Kalule, announced the changes urging heads of centers to take note of the adjusted dates and submit scores on time. “For any further information, please call our Toll Number 0800-211-077.” She emphasized

With this extra time, schools are expected to ensure that their students’ scores are accurately submitted, and their academic progress is duly recognized.
