Woman Beheaded in Luweero, Police Launch Manhunt for Suspect 

Luweero, Uganda – The territorial police in Luweero district are currently investigating a gruesome murder that shook Wobulenzi town council after a 50-year-old woman was beheaded by an unknown assailant.

According to ASP Twineamatsiko Sam, Savannah Region Police Spokesperson, the victim who has been identified as Nakiyingi Margaret, a resident of Wampamba Zone, was found dead in a pool of blood at her doorstep on Wednesday evening, September 18, 2024.

Preliminary findings indicate that the victim was attacked at approximately 8:20 pm, by unknown assailant who chopped her head using a panga at the entrance of her door way.

“it is alleged that the deceased stays a lone in the house and neighbors just heard some one alarming that prompted them to run there unfortunately they found the deceased lying in a pool of blood and the head almost cut off.” Said ASP Twineamatsiko

Police swiftly responded to the scene upon being alerted about the tragic incident. “they examined the scene and documented it by soco and homicide squad, a case of murder by cutting was registered, the scene was tampered by the locals and sniffer dog could not pick the scent.” Said the Savannah region police spokesperson

He further revealed that they managed to recover the panga which was used by the assailant and statements from relevant eyewitnesses were recorded.

Land disputes with family members are suspected to be the motive behind Margaret’s murder according to  witnesses.
