PARIS|Kylian Mbappe has reportedly signed his contract to join Real Madrid as a free agent ahead of next season.
Mbappe confirmed last month that he would be leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer as a free agent when his contract expires. The news resulted in intense speculation about where the 2018 World Cup winner would be playing his football next season.
Real Madrid have been extensively linked with a move to sign Mbappe ever since he first joined PSG from Monaco in 2017. Recent months have also seen Arsenal even credited as potentially making a move to bring Mbappe to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
But Fabrizio Romano has now reported that Mbappe has reached an agreement to join Real Madrid this summer. It has been stated that the Spanish giants will announce the deal to sign Mbappe next week following the club’s triumph in the Champions League final.
Romano shared the news in a video that has been posted on social media in which he gave his now infamous, ‘Here we go’ catchphrase. He then followed it up with the message: “Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid, HERE WE GO! Every document has been signed, sealed and completed.
“Real Madrid, set to announce Mbappé as new signing next week after winning the Champions League. Mbappé made his decision in February; he can now be considered new Real player.”
Madrid claimed a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund on Saturday in the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium. Now the La Liga club look set to welcome Mbappe to their forward line next season.
