Kikuube, Uganda – A tragic road accident has occurred in Kikuube District, resulting in the deaths of four police officers and three suspects. The accident happened when a police pickup vehicle overturned in Kabale village, Kikuube District.
According to the police spokesperson for Albertine Region Julius Hakiza, detective inspector of police only identified as Mutubwa including 3 other police constables lost their lives in the fatal accident. Additionally, Three suspects who were in police custody also died during the crash.
“We can confirm that an accident occurred in Kikuube District, resulting in the deaths of police officers and suspects. We are still gathering information and will provide updates as more details become available,” Hakiza said.
Hakiza highlighted that 2 other police constables who sustained critical injuries in the accident have been rushed to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital for urgent medical attention.
The cause of the accident is not yet known, and an investigation is likely to follow. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and condolences are pouring in for the families of the deceased.
