The Territorial Police in Katonga Region and Mpigi CPS, arrested a 43year old Swaibu Murundi, traditional healer from Butamba village, Kayabwe Town Council, in Mpigi district for aggravated defilement of 5 female juveniles.

“The 5th girl victim, is a daughter to his close friend, whom he victimized, while paying school fees, for her.” Enanga stated

Enanga also notified that the defiled victims had kept the secret for a long time because the suspect had threatened to bewitch and kill them using witchcraft incase they revealed the matter to anybody.

The suspect lived in a well fenced premise, sitted on 2 aches which was restricted to the public and the home has 3 gates, clients used one gate that led them to the traditional shrines. “His cottage where he slept, was isolated. It was a traditional practice for him to have carnal knowledge, with is daughters once they clocked 12 years.” Said the police spokesperson

He further outlined that the sexual act would thereafter, become routine and every evening the victims would gather at a fire place for rituals, eat food and then proceed to their father/guardian’s cottage for the sexual act. The suspect had also separated with the biological mother’s of his 4 daughters.

He however strongly condemned the acts of fathers and guardians, defiling young girls which he said is an abomination and an act of betrayal by the parents or guardians who are supposed to be the role models, charged with the responsibility of protecting their children including promoting of their well being.

“We would like to thank the D/RDC, DPC, DISO, CID, CFPU and the Probation Office for their hard work during the operation against Child Sexual Violence and exploitation. The arrest should serve as a warning to those who harm children and use them as sex objects.” Enanga said
