Mityana, Uganda|The Territorial Police in Mityana have arrested and taken into custody the LC1 Chairperson of Kibubula B Cell, Busunju Town Council, Mityana District, for aggravated defilement of a 14-year-old female.
According to the Spokesperson of Wamala regional police SP Rachael Kawala, the suspect Mukasa Muhammed, 54, allegedly began defiling the victim in March 2024 at his saloon in Busunju Town, where the victim’s mother had taken her to study hairdressing.
“The suspect enticed the victim into a sexual relationship and even surrendered one of his salons to her as a means of enticement and accommodation,” SP Kawala said. “Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect continued to sexually abuse the victim.”
SP Kawala condemned the act, saying, “We strongly condemn this heinous act by a person who should have protected the girl child instead of taking advantage of her vulnerability.”
The victim has undergone medical examination, and the scene of crime has been examined and documented. The investigation is ongoing, and the police urge anyone with information to come forward to ensure justice for the victim.
“We urge anyone with information to come forward to ensure justice for the victim,” SP Kawala appealed. “We will not tolerate such heinous acts in our community, and we will ensure that justice is served.”
