SFC Soldier Arrested for Shooting 4 People Dead in Mayuge District

Kampala, Uganda – A soldier attached to the Special Force Command (SFC) has been arrested for allegedly killing four family members in a shooting rampage in Namale village, Mayuge District.

According to the Spokesperson of the Special Forces Command( SFC) Major Sam Omara, the suspect Birivumbuka Herbertson Robert escaped from his workplace on June 29, 2024, and went on a deadly shooting spree, killing four close family members and injuring others.

Omara also highlighted that upon committing the offence, the suspect rushed back to his place of work in a bid to allude any possible suspicion but his unit had already detected his absence on duty.”Once he returned, he was arrested because all fingers pointed to him. He is detained in the SFC facility awaiting the long arm of the law to dispense justice.” Said Omara

He however asked for cooperation from the residents of Namale with their investigators so that the suspect quickly faces the law.
