Katwe Couple’s Deadly Dispute Ends in Double Murder

Kampala, Uganda – The police in Katwe have kicked off an investigation into a tragic incident of domestic violence that claimed the lives of two young individuals today in Juuko zone, Makindye division, Kampala district.

According to the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango, the deceased who have been identified as Rukundo Sharon, a 19-year-old housewife, and her partner, Kude, aged between 20 and 25 years, were found dead in Juuko zone, Makindye division, following a brutal attack.

Eyewitness say, the couple had a history of frequent fights, leading Sharon to leave their home and move in with her aunt two weeks ago. However, the situation took a deadly turn when Kude called Sharon’s aunt, threatening to harm her, before attacking and beheading her.

“Two weeks ago, Sharon left their home and moved in with her aunt in Juuko zone, where she worked at her aunt’s restaurant, Aunt Joan’s Restaurant. Today, at around 9 am, Kude called Sharon’s aunt, threatening to cause harm. Shortly after, he attacked Sharon, cutting off her head. The mob apprehended Kude and beat him to death.” Onyango highlighted

He disclosed that both bodies have been conveyed to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem examination.

The police are investigating the incident and appealing to couples to resolve domestic issues amicably without resorting to violence.

“We also urge the public not to take the law into their hands, but rather report incidents to the authorities.” He emphasized
