Kyaliwajjala – Sonde road cut-off from Motorists

Government Security agencies have in today’s meeting resolved to cut off Kyaliwajjala – Sonde road from all motorists, leaving it to only the pedestrians trekking to Namugongo effective from tonight ahead of the much anticipated Uganda Martyrs day celebrations.

According to the spokesperson of Kampala metropolitan police SSP Patrick Onyango, the following traffic diversions have been agreed upon in the meeting;-

1. Motorists using Seeta – Sonde Road will be diverted at Catholic Mbalwa Road junction and they will come out at Agenda 2000.

2. Motorists from Nalya to Kyaliwajjala will be diverted at Kyaliwajjala junction and they will use Semambro Road.

3. Motorists from Kireka to Kyaliwajjala will be diverted at Agenda 2000 and they will use Mbalwa Road.

4. Motorists from Jinja heading to Capital City should drive direct to City centre they should NOT use Seeta – Namugongo Road.

5. The diversion will be in place upto 3 Jun 24.

Onyango urged motorists to plan their journeys very early to avoid being caught up in traffic jam around the areas of Namugongo. “We apologise for any inconveniences caused by these diversions.” Onyango said
