SCP Fred Enanga the Uganda police force spokesperson addressing journalists in Naguru

Rukungiri|A shocking case of family violence has emerged in Rukungiri, where a mother and her two children have been arrested for the brutal murder of their father and husband. The victim, Byamukama Vincent, 53, was killed after a family misunderstanding that led to him being chased away from home due to his alcoholic behavior.

According to the police spokesperson Fred Enanga, the suspects Mutesigensi Everino (44), Akanyijuka Moses, (21), and Ninshaba Hildar, (19), conspired to kill their father, who had earlier threatened to cut them with a panga and chased them out of the house.

They however, snuck back into the home at around 11pm, finding the victim asleep and used his own panga to hack him to death.

“The suspects carried the deceased’s body on his mattress and burnt it, from the near side of the main house. After which, they dumped the remains in the toilet and demolished it.” Enanga narrated

The police were alerted by relatives who discovered the victim’s absence and pressured the family to reveal his whereabouts. The suspects led the police to the toilet where they had dumped the body, which was later recovered and identified.

The police spokesperson, Fred Enanga, condemned the brutal act, saying, “This is a horrific case of domestic violence, which could have been avoided if the warning signs were detected early.”

The suspects will be charged with murder and remanded in custody until their court appearance. The police have urged all victims of domestic violence to seek help from their dedicated Child and Family Protection Officers.

The community is still reeling in shock from the brutal murder, which has left many questioning the state of family values in the society. The police have promised to ensure that justice is served for the victim and his family.”
