‌The national unity party principal Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu commonly know as bobi wine, has today suspended Nyendo Mukungwe legislator Hon. Mathias Mpuuga from the position of party deputy president over allegations of involvement in corruption related scandal in parliament.

Kyagulanyi made the decision public using the social media handles for National Unity Platform this Thursday evening.

“The President of the National Unity Platform has suspended Hon. Mathias Mpuuga from the position of Deputy President (Central Region) for engaging in actions of corruption and abuse of office — which actions he has failed to give any satisfactory explanation for,” the statement reads.

Mpuuga who is the current commissioner of parliament has been under scrutiny following news that he was allocated funds worth UGX. 500 million as a service award, a move that his fellows in the leading opposition party termed as abuse of office calling for his resignation.

The official letter addressed to Hon. Mathias Mpuuga from NUP’s party president Kyagulanyi.
