Former RCC Anderson Burora Arrested and Detained at Kira Police Division

Former Rubaga Division Deputy Resident City Commissioner (RCC) Anderson Herbert Burora

Kampala, Uganda – In a dramatic turn of events, former Rubaga Division Deputy Resident City Commissioner (RCC) Anderson Herbert Burora was arrested last night and detained at Kira Division Police Station in Wakiso District.

Burora, who was fired earlier this year by the Presidency for his outspoken criticism of corruption and his public feud with Speaker of Parliament Annet Anita Among, had taken to social media to report that his house was surrounded by unknown men. “My home has been besieged by unknown men who claim that I should go with them.” Burora posted on his X, formerly Twitter, at 10 pm last night.

Shortly after the post, Burora was indeed taken away by the men, who are believed to be security operatives. The reasons and charges behind his arrest are still unclear, sparking concern and speculation among his supporters and the general public.

Burora’s fearless stance against corruption and his refusal to apologize to Among had made him a polarizing figure in Ugandan politics. As the investigation continues, Burora’s fate remains uncertain, leaving many to wonder what the future holds for the former RCC.
