Prime suspect in Ben Kiwanuka CCTV footage robbery apprehended by police

The Central police station in Kampala have arrested the third suspect connected to the recent aggravated robbery that went viral on social media platforms, involving Mr. Mugisha Thomson which was documented on a CCTV camera along Ben Kiwanuka street.

Speaking inregards to the incident, the deputy spokesperson of Kampala metropolitan police ASP Luke Owoyesigyire noted that the suspect, who has been identified as Mugisa Derrick a.k.a Musota was arrested today around Nakivubo Channel.

“It is alleged that Mugisa is the individual who delivered the kick that incapacitated Mr. Tomson and continued to assault him until he was unconscious. Mugisa has confessed to both the act of kicking and the robbery.” Luke disclosed

The third suspect Mugisa Derrick, joins two other suspects already in custody: Senyonjo Peter, also known as Kakima, and Nuur Lweyama, also known as Mu TZ (Tanzania).

According to Owoyesigyire, the trio has admitted to be acting under the command of another individual, for whom efforts are intensifying to bring to justice. “The suspects will be processed and presented in court as soon as investigations are complete.” Said Owoyesigyire.
