Kampala, Uganda – The Uganda Police Force has launched an investigation into allegations that Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi, president of the National Unity Platform (NUP), was shot and injured in Bulindo, Kiira Municipality, Wakiso District.

Earlier in the day, Robert Kyagulanyi a.k.a Bobi Wine attended a thanksgiving ceremony at the residence of NUP-affiliated lawyer George Musisi, which concluded peacefully.

Responding to the tragic incident, the police spokesperson ACP Kituuma Rusoke revealed that tensions arose when Kyagulanyi and his entourage decided to proceed on foot through Bulindo town, despite police advisories against it. “Despite Police’s guidance, he insisted on proceeding and closing the road, leading to police intervention to prevent the procession.” Kituuma highlighted
