UPC commends overwhelming campaign support from Dokolo, pledge to safe guard the votes.

The leadership of Uganda people’s Congress have expressed great appreciation towards the people of Dokolo for the overwhelming support given to their candidate Sarah Aguti Nyangkori in the just concluded campaigns for the woman member of parliament for Dokolo district.

Speaking during today’s press conference at the party headquarters in Kampala, Arach Oyat Sharon who is the spokesperson of the party thanked the entire UPC fraternity led by the Party President Hon. Jimmy Akena, Members of Parliament, Party leaders and the entire membership for the spirit of unity and comradeship shown canvassing for comrade Sarah Aguti Nyangkori for Dokolo District Member of Parliament seat.

“We would like to thank the campaign team for the work well done and persevering the harsh campaign conditions.” Sharon stated

Arach also disclosed how the party has carried out a great and successful campaign in which they managed to lay out their manifesto to the people of Dokolo, as they gear up to cast their vote in the ballot box tomorrow.

“We believe we have the best candidate to better lead the people of Dokolo. Tomorrow 21st March 2023, Dokolo will go into polls to decide who their next woman Member of Parliament will be. Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC) invites all citizens of Dokolo to come out in big numbers and vote comrade Sarah Aguti Nyangkori.” Said the party spokesperson Arach

She also added and said, as a Party they are committed to ensure that every vote is counted and protected as she encouraged them to be more vigilant and report any forms of malpractice during the exercise.

“We have identified and trained our agents and observers to guard our votes at any costs.” She said

She further urged all stakeholders; Independent Electoral Commission, Political Parties , Security agencies , and candidates to desist from any form of election malpractices , unlawful arrests , violence , ballot staffing among others.

“We demand for free, fair and peaceful elections as we all upon all members of Dokolo to raise up early tomorrow, lineup and vote for Comrade Sarah Aguti Nyangkori as the next District Woman Member of Parliament for Dokolo.” She narrated
